Round 12 Preview

Friday, June 3, 2016 - 1:25 PM

The Royals season is on the line when we travel to Joondalup to take on the ‘Old Enemy’ West Perth in the biggest match on the WAFL football calendar, the Perth WA Day Derby. WA Derby’s always provide something special and this one shapes up to be a memorable one as well. Looking to avenge our Preliminary Final loss at the ground last year, the Royals will also be wanting a win to stay in contact with the Top 5.

Paul Johnson will again Captain the side in what will be his 100th match for the Royals. Since being recruited to East Perth in 2012, Paul has twice won the East Perth Fairest and Best award, captained the State and won a Simpson Medal. We wish Johnno and his team all the best on Monday.

The Reserves will look to maintain the momentum from last week after a commanding 45 point win over Subiaco. There are a number of players pushing to play higher in a great sign for the Club.

The Colts had a tremendous come from behind victory early last Saturday scoring five goals to one in the second half to run out winners by three points. A win against West Perth will strengthen their place in the 5 heading into the State Week bye.
