Beau Walks From Hospital
On behalf of the Chatley Family, the club is delighted to announce that Beau has walked from his ward at Fiona Stanley Hospital to spend Christmas with his family. It was an emotional moment for Beau, his family and the staff at Fiona Stanley.
At Beau’s request, we have respected his privacy to allow him to focus on his recovery.
Intensive therapy from 8.00am to 4.00pm every day has allowed Beau to regain enough strength and coordination to walk small distances. He has also regained limited mobility in his arms. Beau is hopeful that he will continue to improve his range of motion in his hands, as well as increasing his coordination to walk longer distances.
Beau’s recovery so far has been a triumph of perseverance and determination, however Beau and his family understand there is still a long road ahead.
In recent weeks Beau, has been leaving the hospital on weekends into a rented unit in Perth. This unit will now become his permanent residency in between regular physiotherapy and occupational therapy sessions.
Beau, the Chatley family and the East Perth Football Club would like to thank everyone for their support since the incident occurred in July. The donations and kind words have been overwhelming and very much appreciated.
