The Royals have taken another big step towards 2018 by signing defender Tom Gorter back to the club.

The Kojonup product was courted by a number of WAFL clubs during the off season after being released from West Coast’s Rookie List but has decided that his home club, East Perth is where he wants to play.

East Perth Football Operations Manager Mark Winnett said “I am pleased to confirm that Tom has re-committed to East Perth. He is a young player the football club holds in high regard and we look forward to Tom’s continual development as a key defender. Tom has been training very strongly in the early part of our pre-season program and he is a player who will be a key part of the club’s plans for season 2018 and beyond”

The 191cm key defender is an important cog in the Royals backline set up. The 21 year old has 30 League appearances under his belt and took out the Royals 'Best First Year Player' in 2016. Tom's elite kicking skills are a feature of his game coming out of defence for the club and promises too be a highlight of the Royals 2018 season.
