This event will raise much needed funds for the ongoing recovery cost for Beau Chatley. We are now 18 months on from Beau Chatley’s serious spinal injury which saw Beau lose his upper and lower motor function. While Beau made some initial gains, including being able to get up and walk again in December 2016 his recovery has stagnated and a final medical assessment (Combined Values methodology) Beau has been left with an impairment rating of 46%.
Beau will undergo a bladder operation on the 22nd January 2018 to remove a 2 cm crystalize stone which has formed due to the ongoing catheterization and not emptying his bladder fully. Beau receives daily therapy with several specialist in an effort to improve his impairment which unfortunately means at present he has no ability to perform a job which supports an income. Beau’s annual medical costs currently exceed $55,000 which creates enormous anxiety for Beau and his family.
Beau is only very young (22), we see his impairment rating of 46% as significant. This impairment in several areas will only get worse and require medical assistance over a lifetime.
Ideally with the Mrs Brown Son’s event in February, we can generate significant funds which will assist Beau into the future.
