Junior clubs win with M&J Chickens
The West Australian Football Commission is delighted to announce leading poultry supplier M&J Chickens as a supporting partner of the WAFL in season 2018.
The Partnership sees junior football clubs across the State being rewarded in the WAFL broadcast’s player of the day segment, with $200 worth of chicken provided to the winning player’s junior football club of origin.
M&J Chickens Chief Executive Officer Sam Phylactou said M&J Chickens was extremely proud to partner with the WAFL and reward junior football clubs with products that could be used for meals at club functions, a canteen specialty for supporters, or tasty raffle prize.
“Since establishing the business back in 1982, sport has been a huge part of our make-up. We see sport as something that can bring communities together, and to be able to support the WAFL and junior football clubs is an absolute privilege,” he said.
“Our WA journey began back in 2012 after a growing demand for quality poultry from remote areas of the State. We look forward to building relationships with our customers of today and tomorrow.”
So far, M&J Chickens Player of the Day winners from Channel 7 telecast games have included:
- Rudy Riddoch (West Perth) - $200 worth of chicken for Bassendean JFC
- Kyal Horsley (Subiaco) - $200 worth of chicken for Kalgoorlie City
- Brandon Donaldson (South Fremantle) - $200 worth of chicken for Kwinana JFC
WAFC Executive Manager Engagement and Community Football Troy Kirkham encouraged both WAFL clubs and junior clubs to further promote this unique partnership.
“The M&J Chickens partnership reinforces the great link between the WAFL and our junior clubs within our district model. We encourage all junior club recipients to share a photo or social media post showcasing how they have put the prize to great use at their club.”
