David Swan Named 2019 WAFL Ball Legend

Friday, March 29, 2019 - 3:01 PM

East Perth is excited to announce that David Swan is our 2019 WAFL Ball Legend. Swan, an East Perth Life Member and Hall of Fame Inductee, played 129 games between 1995 to 2006. He was one of nine players who featured in the three premierships to open the 2000 millennium. He quickly developed a reputation for toughness as a half-back or back line player. He recovered from an off-season motor cycle accident, he played the 2000 premiership year with a hernia problem that resulted in an end-of-season operation and missed a lot of football with two knee operations.

But despite all those setbacks, the season 2000 was a triple triumph. He shared the Club's fairest and best award with Rod Wheatley and Aaron Marley. Swan also claimed a $5,000 media award for being the best player in the WAFL competition for that year. More importantly, in his words, he received a premiership medallion.
