Round 2 Preview: Royals Members Round

Heading into Round 2’s “Royals Members Round”, Coach Jeremy Barnard, spoke with Royals News about the loss to Subiaco “unfortunately we were too inconsistent throughout the game, against a very good side”. However this hasn’t discouraged the players, Barney explained “It has clarified where the bench mark is and where we need to improve. So we have identified that as a group and we are really looking forward to putting that into place when we play Swan Districts this week.”

“Royals Members Round” celebrates the Clubs return to a Traditional Club, with both the Reserves and League Players wearing the much-anticipated Members Guernsey, which includes Life Members, 2019 Players along with the names of members who joined the ‘Be A Part of History’ program. Members names will be on the same Guernsey as some of the Club Legends such as Graham “Polly” Farmer, Ted Kilmurray and Craig Wulff.

CEO Dean Turner is encouraging all members to wear their Replica Guernsey to Saturday’s Game, highlighting this guernsey shows they are a “Loyal Royal”. Turner, went on say “We really want our members to get the behind the team this weekend, ensuring we bring home the 4 points for our members.”

Barney also reminisced of his days playing for East Perth “Ever since I was playing, East Perth Members have always been viewed as our 23^rd man. I can remember several times the chant going up and as a player it really gives you an extra lift. So our members are really valuable people.”
