Jo Davies Joins East Perth Board
The East Perth Football Club Is pleased to announce that Jo Davies will join the Board for the remainder of the 2019 Season. Jo has been seconded to the East Perth Board following the retirement of Tony Salerno due to work commitments.
Jo’s involvement in football began while at University in the early 90's as Freeball coordinator (precursor to Auskick) and delivering level 1 coach accreditation courses for the WA Football Development Trust.
Jo progressed to become one of the pre-eminent sounding boards for community football in WA, having served on a number of review panels, including that which led to the formation of the District Model in 2003. Jo took on the role of East Perth District Chair when the model was introduced that same year. A role which she held until the end of the 2015 season. During her tenure Jo was also Chairperson of all the District Chairs in WA.
In her professional life, Jo started with the WACA in July 2016 as General Manager, Community Cricket and has over 25 years' experience working in the sport and recreation industry, at state, national and international level. Most recently, Jo was the inaugural State Manager for the Federal Government's Active After School Communities Program, Manager of the State Government's Physical Activity Taskforce and Manager Regional Services for DSR.
‘The Club is very grateful to have Jo agree to serve on our Board.’ CEO Dean Turner said today. ‘We believe her skill set and background with community programs will be of tremendous benefit to the club’s planned initiative’s over the coming years. She is also a long time Loyal Royal, passionate to see the club maintain itself as one of the powerhouses of WA football.’
A reminder to all members that the club will be holding a Special General Meeting this Saturday the 20th of April with regard to our new constitution. The meeting will commence at 12 noon sharp in the Sponsors Lounge, Level 1 of the Main Grandstand.
