Royals Sign Scott Jones
The Royals have welcomed back Ruckman Scott Jones after a two-year stint with Fremantle. The 205cm, 112kg ruckman from Busselton is excited about coming back to East Perth and ‘Never considered playing for another WAFL Club’ once he came off Fremantle’s list.
Jones, who still holds ambitions to play AFL football, has signed for East Perth for two seasons.
‘The club is committed to giving Jonesy every opportunity to play his best football.’ Football Operations Manager Ward Harris commented.
‘We know that this means that he may be selected by an AFL club in the numerous drafts, however, we also know that this means he will be playing really good football for us.’
‘We encourage all our players to aim for that next level.’
‘The drafting of mature age players is a strength of the WAFL. If we have players putting in the effort and getting runs on the board, we want that effort to be rewarded. It will also lead us to winning games of footy.’
