WAFL Women’s Season Launch
This week the WAFL Women’s season launch was held at the Camfield, as the competition enters its sixth year.
More than 100 guests were introduced to the WAFL Women’s coaches and captains. Special guests included the Honourable Sue Ellery, Minister for Finance; Commerce; Women’s Interests, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Peter Rundle MLA, Lisa O’Malley MLA, Member for Bicton, West Coast Eagles AFLW coach Daisy Pearce, Fremantle Football Club AFLW coach Lisa Webb and the competition’s major partners Sullivan Logistics, Electrical Group Training, Healthway, Kia, Seven West Media, and Carlton & United Breweries.
Guests heard from reigning premiers East Fremantle club captains and from Fremantle’s AFLW coach Lisa Webb and her journey from player to coach.
This season the competition is expected to close as we welcome six new coaches to the competition.
Round 1 of the WAFL Women’s season commences on Saturday with Claremont taking on Swan Districts, co- tenants East Perth v Subiaco, while South Fremantle hosts the Fremantle Derby against 2023 premiers East Fremantle, and Peel Thunder host West Perth.
