Hutchings Recruited to St Kilda

E-mail Print

East Perth's Mark Hutchings has has been rewarded for his hard work and determination today when he was taken by St Kilda at pick 20 in the Rookie Draft. Mark had a busy year which included overcoming injury early in the year before captaining the WA State 18's as well as adding 10 league games for the Royals to his tally.

On the official AFL website, St Kilda recruiter John Peake had the following to say about Mark "He has got excellent endurance and agility. He also has a great work ethic that you need from your inside mids. He has got that strong body. If you think of a Jimmy Bartel who isn’t the quickest player going around, he has that strong body that can get the ball out and take punishment. He’s not quite as tall as Jimmy but we look at him as a smaller version of him. He has good vision and hands. He doesn’t fumble."

We wish Mark all the best as he joins fellow recent recruits Ben Stratton and Mitch Duncan in Melbourne as the trio looks to further their footballing careers.

In other news Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls will also be reallocated to East Perth as he was rookie listed by the Eagles with pick 53.
