Lower South West Development Day
The Lower South West Junior Football Clinic was held at Bridgetown Football Club on Wednesday 24th June. 180 kids attended between the ages of 9 and 15 all from the Lower South West region.
Local products Marty Zambotto, Matt Seymour (Imperials), Tom Gorter (Kojonup), Clayton Giblett, Tyler Ipsen, Connor De Campo (Deanmill), Zac Dent (Boyup Brook) and Will Young who hails from Augusta Margaret River FC took the young kids through their paces. The budding youngsters were given a taste of what a senior training session is like with the players incorporating a few of the drills that coach Brian Dawson uses at WAFL level.
All of the Royals who attended the day started out playing junior football in regional areas and have progressed through the ranks to now represent East Perth. It's fantastic to see so many of the boys giving back to the football community. The attendance at the clinic is a promising sign of growth and development for the East Perth Footbal Club.
A big thankyou to the Bridgetown FC for their excellent hospitality and to the Lower South West Junior Football League for organising the event.
