It is with much regret that the Royals advise of the passing of former Colts Player Lee Blake on Friday evening.
Blake last played for the Royals in the Colts Premiership winning team of 2000 in which he was adjudged best afield collecting the Mel Whinnen Medal.
He moved to South Australia the following year with his family and during that same year at just 18 years of age was diagnosed with Leukemia.
He battled the disease to return to footy playing with Norwood in the SANFL.
Unfortunately the disease resurfaced and after a seven year battle Blake succumbed, passing away at age 24.
Black arm bands were worn by the League side and all support staff in remembrance of Lee Blake.
Our thoughts go out to the members of Blake's family as well as friends and past team mates during this time.
