East Perth vs West Perth Match Preview
Tale of the Tape - It is anyone’s guess what will happen in the fiercest Derby in football. Even more so with both teams coming off a week with Lockdown restrictions. Both sides had a run of good form leading into the Lockdown, with East Perth putting in strong performances against highly rated opponents South Fremantle and Peel. West Perth won three on the trot including an impressive victory against flag favourites Claremont.
Both teams will be competing for the Polly Farmer Shield with the Royals looking to bring it back to Leederville for the first time. The WAFL competition will also be celebrating NAIDOC Week by wearing jumpers designed by famous Aboriginal artists. All League players will also wear ‘Free the Flag’ t-shirts in the warm up to raise awareness of the Aboriginal Flag copyright issue
The Ins and Outs – East Perth will be bolstered by some key inclusions since the WA Day Derby match. Captain Jackson Ramsay showed his class with a best afield performance in his return against Peel. That side will be further bolstered by the return of Aiden Lynch, who comes in at the expense of ruckman Ajang Ajang
Last Time They Met – A 7 goal first quarter meant the Royals were never really in the hunt eventually going down by 43 points. Angus Schumacher and Rohan Kerr won plenty of the ball whilst Stan Wright had his best outing to date. East Perth will be looking for much the same from those three players tomorrow
Stat of the Week – This will be our 351st match against arch rivals West Perth with the ledger sitting at East Perth 173 Wins, 171 Losses and 6 Draws
