Wallis Signs With Royals

Friday, November 12, 2021 - 1:55 PM

East Perth is excited to announce the addition of former Essendon rookie Tom Wallis to the senior squad for next season.

“The club has been in discussion with Tom over the last couple of months and we are thrilled about adding him to our Senior Squad for the 2022 Season” Football Operations Manager Warren Parker said

Tom is a 182cm utility who can play a variety of different roles and will perfectly suit the larger WAFL venues with his ability to run and cover the ground.

“Tom can play a variety of roles and we see him coming in and adding depth at a number of positions. At 24, he also gives us some much needed experience to complement our exciting group of youngsters as we look to cover the losses of senior players in Rohan Kerr, Nathan Blee, Julian Ameduri and Shaq McKenzie” Parker added

Wallis, the son of dual AFL premiership player Dean Wallis, was recruited by the Bombers with pick 54 in the 2015 rookie draft from the Calder Cannons, has been playing for Echuca United in the Murray Football-Netball League

On this, Parker commented “Tom’s had a few interrupted seasons since leaving the VFL due to the impact of COVID-19 on Football in Victoria, so he’s itching to get back into football at a State League Level and we hope he can get into WA as soon as possible to join the group and get his preseason officially started”

Wallis played VFL for both Essendon’s reserves and Coburg, finishing with the latter in 2018 before heading to play local football.

The midfielder spent time in WA as a child when his father was an assistant coach at Fremantle between 2007 and 2010.
Tom is currently going through the process to satisfy the requirements to be able to enter the State and will likely join the senior squad after the Christmas break.

Our Seniors begin pre-season training next Monday night

Mitchell Dobson will line-up for West Perth in season 2022. Dobson played 35 games across 5 seasons for the Royals. The Club wish Mitch all the best in the future.
