2022 Leadership Group
Jackson Ramsay will again lead the Royals in 2022. The two-time FD Book medallist is tracking well to be ready to go for Round 1 after post season knee surgery. 2022 will be Jackson’s third year as skipper.
‘Jackson has done a terrific job as skipper. The whole Club lifts when he’s out on the field.’ Football Manager Warren Parker said.
Scott Jones and Angus Scott have again been chosen as Vice-Captains. Scott and Angus shared on-field Captain responsibility in Jackson’s absence last season and remain important cogs within the senior squad. They will be joined by Hamish Brayshaw. Hamish comes into the Vice Captains role after holding a number of leadership roles over his development and WAFL career to date.
‘Gussy and Jonesy did a great job in Rama’s absence last year and to be able to add Hamish, who has a wealth of experience is a coup for the Club.’ Warren commented
Reigning FD Book Medallist Christian Ameduri and returning Royal Damon Greaves have also been selected in the leadership group for the 2022 season.
‘Christian has been training the house down and has been mentoring a number of our transitioning Colts coming into the Senior program this off season.’
‘Damon’s return to the Club has been fairly understated by those outside the Club but he has already established himself as a leader within the group and we’re all excited at what he will bring this season.’
Warren continued ‘The Club is extremely fortunate to have such a great calibre of players and people to choose a leadership group from.’
‘Leading Teams facilitated our Leadership Vote which saw the playing group have their say on who should lead the side in 2022. This was then ratified by the Board and we all agree that the players voted in have earnt their places’
‘It’s been terrific having Leading Teams onboard in 2022 and Jenny Devine has been doing a great job with the club as a whole. We believe that the improvement in our leadership and in our ability to drive standards and behaviours within the group will see a lift in our on-field performances’
