Round 13 v PERTH Football Department Update

The players have thawed out after a gutsy 23pt win over West Coast in wet and blustery conditions at Mineral Resources Park which was a great way for us to celebrate NAIDOC Round. Hamish Brayshaw turned in another strong performance racking up 35 disposals against his old side while Scott Jones, Jackson Ramsay, Stan Wright and Christian Ameduri were amongst our best players on the day.

We now turn our attention to our Round 13 match-up against Perth who have had some very strong performances this season and will be very tough to beat despite their current ladder position. We are expecting a strong contest from Perth and all 3 grades will need to be at their best to bring home W’s this weekend.

The League Side will again wear the NAIDOC strip designed by Jade McGuire as we continue to celebrate the contributions and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout the WAFL and our within our great club!

THE LEAGUE SQUAD

Unfortunately we’ve lost a number of players from the Round 12 side due to H&S Protocols which will see skipper Jackson Ramsay out for the week along with youngsters Harley Sparks and Thomas Graham. Damon Greaves left the field in the 1st quarter against West Coast with an ankle injury and is awaiting scans to determine the severity and return date. Key Defender Bradley Fullgrabe returns to the side after missing last week with an ankle injury while Kade Dittmar and Sam Van Diemen have been recalled. New recruit Nicholas Bonomelli has also been selected and will debut for the club to become the 1505th player to represent the East Perth Football Club at League Level.

THE RESERVES SQUAD

The Reserves return after a couple of weeks away from WAFL action due to the WAFL BYE and us playing WCE last week. The side still have an eye on September action and will need to be at their best over the next month in order to jump up the ladder. The hard running Jesse Keating (Wembley FC) will debut for the Reserves this week while Colts Players Daniel Moore (Broome) and Patrick Weldon (Busselton/Mt Lawley) have been promoted to the senior program this week and will play their first Reserves matches. THE COLTS SQUAD

Round 13 the Colts will return to action after 2 weeks off with the WAFL general bye as well as the WCE bye against the Perth Football Club at Leederville Oval. Bouncedown is 9:10am.

We go into the game on the back of a strong performance last time out against Claremont.

With all the PSA players available we have made a number of changes to the side that last played. While missing our 3 x State Academy players (Jedd Busslinger, Jordyn Baker and Reuben Ginbey), the inclusion of some of our PSA players is a positive. We will also have 2 x debutants this weekend that will proudly wear the Blue and Black EPFC jumper for the first time.

Griffin Hyde from Bridgetown has been in the rehab group since January after undergoing surgery on his shins and has worked his way back to now get an opportunity to play colts football. A rebounding half back who is strong overhead we look forward to seeing how Griffin goes.

Kobe Foster from Mundijong also comes into the side, we managed to recruit Kobe just before the June 30 deadline. Kobe is a powerful Key Forward who showed he knows where the goals are during the recent country colts championships, being named at Full Forward in both the Great Southern Colts Champs as well as the Nutrigen AG champs. We wish Kobe all the best as well.
